Four Shields for Warriors (“Warriors”) · iPhone and Apple Watch
Updated: 13 September 2026

Your saved daily records are stored on your devices. Optional AI guidance and online read-aloud send the text you choose to share to our service providers. No Warriors user account is required. A one-time App Store purchase is not a subscription.

This notice concerns the native Warriors app and its online features. The separate website privacy notice is available through “Datenschutzerklärung” on the homepage.

2. Daily records and device features

Check-ins, intentions, activity plans, reflections and preferences are saved in local app storage. The app does not automatically upload your journal or plans to Warrior Guide. Relevant activity and practice information can be exchanged with your paired Apple Watch. Device backups may contain app records, according to your Apple settings.

Optional reminders, Live Activities and Watch displays may show activity information on your devices. Choose discreet reminder wording if you do not want activity details on the Lock Screen. Keyboard dictation is supplied by Apple or your chosen keyboard provider; Warriors receives the resulting text, not a recording of your voice.

3. Warrior Guide: optional AI guidance

When you review and consent to send a message, that text is transmitted through our backend hosted by Supabase to OpenAI for safety checks and AI-generated daily-planning suggestions. Your message can reveal sensitive information, including health information, if you include it. Please share only what is necessary and avoid identifying information about other people.

Our Guide endpoint does not save message or reply text in its application database. It records technical usage information, including request identifiers, timestamps, token counts and outcome categories, which can include a human-help safety outcome. These records support access control, fair-use limits, security and cost management; they are not a journal archive.

4. Marin: optional online read-aloud

Marin is an AI-generated voice, not a human narrator. After the read-aloud consent prompt, the text being read is sent through our Supabase-hosted service to OpenAI to generate audio. This can include your own words or AI replies, not only the app’s published guidance. Playback text and audio are held in memory for the reading; the app does not save the generated audio as a permanent recording. Choosing not to use online audio does not prevent you from reading the text.

5. Purchase verification and technical data

Apple handles the purchase and payment details. We do not receive your payment-card information. To verify access to Warrior Guide, the app sends an Apple-signed app transaction to our backend. A hashed transaction-related identifier is used with access and usage records. Earlier private-test installations may use a stored test-access credential instead. Hashing is pseudonymisation, not a promise of anonymity.

Hosting and API providers may process IP addresses, request times and other technical connection or security logs. Warriors does not include advertising or cross-app advertising tracking and does not sell your journal content.

6. Providers, international processing and retention

Recipients include Supabase for backend hosting and storage, OpenAI for AI guidance, safety processing and speech generation, and Apple for App Store and operating-system services. Processing may occur outside Germany or the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Relevant provider arrangements and transfer safeguards must apply; contact us for information about the arrangements applicable to your request.

OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models by default. Its standard abuse-monitoring logs may retain content for up to 30 days, unless longer retention is legally required. The Guide uses the Responses API with response storage disabled; that does not itself disable provider abuse-monitoring retention. See OpenAI’s API data controls and Supabase’s privacy policy.

Local records remain until you delete them or remove the app’s data; backups and shared copies are separate. Backend access and usage records are retained for access verification, usage administration and security. No fixed automatic deletion interval is stated for those records in this release. Contact us to request deletion or details of applicable retention. Support correspondence is retained as needed to handle the request and any applicable legal obligations.

7. Purposes and legal bases

Providing the app and verifying purchased access rely on performance of the service contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Optional AI sharing and online read-aloud rely on consent (Article 6(1)(a)); where health or other special-category information is included, explicit consent under Article 9(2)(a) is required. Security, abuse prevention and proportionate technical administration rely on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)). Mandatory recordkeeping relies on Article 6(1)(c), where applicable.

You can decline optional sharing or stop using these features at any time, and contact us to withdraw consent. Withdrawal does not undo processing that was lawful before withdrawal. AI suggestions do not make legally binding decisions about you and are not medical diagnosis, treatment or emergency monitoring.

8. Your choices and rights

Use the app’s available record-management controls to edit or delete saved records. Removing app data does not erase copies in backups, on other devices or already shared with others. We cannot remotely retrieve or erase records held only on your device. For backend information, contact the email above; do not send journal entries or private access codes just to make a privacy request.

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction and portability, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent. You may complain to a data-protection supervisory authority, including the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA).

If you use email support, external links or the system share sheet, the information you choose to send is handled by the selected recipient and service. Warriors is designed for veterans and is not directed at children. We do not request a child’s profile or age-verification documents.

9. Changes

We will update this page when data practices change. The date above identifies this version. Questions about this notice can be sent to blainbertrand@gmail.com.
